Classic godspantheon Introduction

Brahman :

Brahman: (not to be confused with the Creator god Brahma.)
(not to be confused from Brahmin, the priests.)

The absolute God of Hindus., the light and delight of the Universe, the ruler and the lord, without a beginning and without an end, blissfully immersed in Himself and all by Himself. Brahman is Parameshvara (para= the highest, ishvara= Ruler)
Brahman is the Absolute Reality or universal substrate is said to be eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and ultimately indescribable in human language.

The word “Brahman” is derived from the verb brh (Sanskrit: to grow), and connotes greatness.
From the left side of the Brahman arose Brahma, who creates the universe.
From the right side of the Brahman arose Vishnu, who preserves the universe.
From the middle part of Brahman arose Shiva, who destroys the universe.

Though it might appear that there are innumerable gods in Hinduism, there is really only the Hindu Trinity comprising Lord Brahma, the Creator, Lord Vishnu, the Preserver, and Lord Shiva the Transformer. These are the three aspects of the Supreme Being (Brahman).

The three supreme manifestations of the divine principal are:
Brahma, the creator, who introduces the soul into the cycle of life.
Vishnu, the sustainer, who helps the soul participate in the cycle of life.
Shiva, the destroyer, who liberates the soul from the cycle of life.

The Hindu trinity is also aligned as the transcendent Godhead, Shiva, the cosmic lord, Vishnu and the cosmic mind, Brahma.
In this regard they are called Sat-Tat-Aum, the Being, the Thatness or eminence and the Word or Holy Spirit. The trinity represents the Divine in its threefold nature and function. Each aspect of the trinity contains and includes the others.

Each God in the trinity has his own consort. For Brahma it is Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge. For Vishnu it is Lakshmi, the Goddess of love, beauty and delight. For Shiva it is Kali (Parvati), the Goddess of power, destruction and transformation.
These are the three main forms of the Goddess, as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are the three main forms of the God. The three Goddesses are often worshipped in their own right as well as along with their spouses
